Registered Nurse - Nurse Manager (Spirit Lake CBOC)

The Sioux Falls VA Health Care System is currently recruiting for a Full-time, Permanent, Nurse Manager.
This position will be located in the Primary & Specialty Medicine Service Line at the Spirit Lake, IA Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).
The Nurse Manager position requires the dedication and commitment of an experienced RN to function in a leadership role that includes but is not limited to:
Supervisor role model, educator and staff developer of team members within the Spirit Lake CBOC.
Responsibility and accountability for managing patient care, patient care programs and staff activities that support the mission, vision and objectives of the VA Health Care System.
Works in partnership with the health care team in implementing standards of care in accordance with the purpose, philosophy and objectives of nursing while being a positive team player.
Responsible for facilitating teamwork to accomplish quality care, productivity / efficiency, clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction goals and objectives.
Responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel.
Interprets, guides and coaches staff to meet nursing qualification standards.
Coordinates and ensures completion of orientation of staff and competencies.
Responsible for cross-training with other CBOC Nurse Managers to assist with vacancies, planned and unplanned leaves.
The Nurse Manager position requires excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication skills to include recent leadership experience that included directing others, and demonstrating a history of excellent collaborative relationships with providers and other support services.
Has responsibility and accountability for managing patient care, patient care programs, and staff activities while supporting the mission, vision and objectives of the Medical Center, the Midwest Network (VISN 23) and the professional standards of the disciplines within the teams through the following activities:
- Supervising and evaluating day-to-day activities and performance of nursing, other professional and ancillary support staff assigned to the clinics.
- Planning and managing clinic staff to meet patient care needs, achieve cost-effective clinic operations, and meet productivity goals.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to continuously improve productivity, efficiency, customer satisfaction and patient care outcomes.
The Nurse Manager will be responsible for facilitating teamwork to accomplish quality of care, productivity/efficiency, clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction goals and objectives.
The Nurse Manager will cross train in other positions and duties, i.
e.
scheduling and staff nurse responsibilities at the Spirit Lake CBOC.
MSN preferred.
Five (5) years of clinical experience (2-3 years of nurse management experience) preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, or willingness to become BLS & ACLS certified, required.
NOTE:
Assignment to other areas of the service line, medical center, or CBOC's may be required.
Travel may be required for work related activities.
Work Schedule:
The tour of duty for this position is typically Monday - Friday, Days.
May be required to travel to CBOC on weekends, after hours or holidays on a rare occasion.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
